COPEN, WV - PEGGY A. RIFFLE, 78, passed away into the Lord's loving arms on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, after a short illness at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.
Born in Elkins, WV, Peggy was a daughter of the late Lelia (Nicholson) and Nolan Bragg. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved gardening, planting flowers, quilting, going dancing, and listening to music with her friends on Friday nights at the Jamboree.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Riffle; stepson, Tony Riffle; companion of 20 years, Bobby Williams; four brothers, David, Pete, Bob, and Jerry Bragg; one sister: Mary Jane Hosey.
She leaves behind her five children. Sons, Larry Singleton (Kathy) from Sutton, WV, Bill Singleton (Renni) from Frametown, WV; daughters, Jenny Rees from Burnsville, WV, Glenna Stephenson (Bobby) from Huntington, WV, Sue Rutherford (Sam) from Sutton, WV; step-children, Gene Riffle Jr, Sherry McDonald from Baltimore, MD, and Monica Currie from Parkersburg, WV; siblings, Paul Bragg (Barbara) from Burnsville, WV; twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Peggy was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be missed eternally by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at CAMC, especially the ICU Nurses: Glenna and Clare for taking such good care of her, and a special thank you to her long-time Cardiologist, Dr. Ahmed Sakkal of Charleston, WV.
Services were held at 1 pm, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Stockert Funeral Home & Cremation, Flatwoods, WV with Pastors Delmas Singleton and Daniel Arnold officiating. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service from 11-1 pm. Burial was in the Copen Cemetery, Copen, WV.
