Jean attended Jacksonville Public schools graduating from Jacksonville High school in 1946. She then attended Nursing School graduating in May of 1949. After graduating Jean work at Hospitals in Jacksonville, Pittsfield and Wood River Illinois. While working at the Wood River Hospital Jean met her Husband to be, Elmer.
Jean and Elmer were married on October 14, 1954 in Jacksonville, IL. The couple made their home in St Charles Missouri. For several years after marriage Jean did not work. When she did return to work she worked in Nursing Homes in St Charles and at the Souix Power Plant for a time.
