wife Adelheid in 1860. 10 acres adjacent to that property was also bought by the city from Samuel l at the same time. In 1872, the city purchased three acres next to the City Cemetery from John Frederick Wolf and his wife Fredericka. In 1926, the city bought another six acres from George and Divanna Kuhlmann in Lot 20 of Block 6 of Steen and Cunningham's Survey of the St. Charles Commons. Since
that time, no other acreage has been added to Oak Grove Cemetery. There have been over 12,000 burials at Oak Grove Cemetery, including 600 veterans. The cemetery still accepts burials. Many of St. Charles City and County founders are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery.
