The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal by Pastor Brad Lapiska. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Barbe was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Fauquier County, daughter of the late Allie and Mae Presgraves Payne. She was a member of Engleside Baptist Church in Alexandria. She was the wife of the late Lyle F. Barbe.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Bruss of Woodbridge; three sisters, Fannie Thompson of Front Royal, Mattie Reynolds of Lanham, Md., and Gay Burgess of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; four brothers, Willie Payne of Flint Hill, Robert Payne, Albert Payne and Charles Payne, all of Front Royal; and two granddaughters.
