pub in the Baltimore, MD, Sun on Friday Feb 25, 1994 - HAZEL EVELYN STRAIGHT BISHOFF, 89 - Hazel Evelyn Bishoff, a retired Baltimore County children's librarian, died Sunday of heart failure at Franklin Square Hospital. She was 89 and lived in Bowleys Quarters. When she retired 20 years ago, she was working at the Parkville Library. Since the late 1950s, she had also worked at the Middle River and Essex libraries. Born Hazel Evelyn Straight in Beatrice, Neb., she came to the Baltimore area in 1940. She graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, and was an elementary school teacher in Conway, Iowa, before coming here. Her husband, Charles R. Bishoff, who retired from the Glenn L. Martin Co., died in 1964(sic). She was a teacher and piano player for the Sunday school at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, where services were held yesterday. She is survived by two daughters, Carole Ann Bauer of Carney and Betty Lou Lantz of Bowleys Quarters; a son, Robert G. Bishoff of Joppatowne; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. --------------------------same paper on Wednesday Feb 23, 1994 - BISHOFF, Hazel died Feb 20, 1994. Hazel E. Funeral services will be held at Piney Grove Methodist Church on Thursday. Visitation at the Lassahn Funeral Home on Wednesday. Interment in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
