Lois Connie Wood, 82, of Salem, Va. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Born in Panther, West Virginia, on May 3, 1941, to the late William Carson and Marjorie Peters May, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Herman May.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Rev. Ernest R. Wood; son, Bobby (Teresa) Wood; daughters, Lisa (Gary) Akers and Renee (Eric) Boyd; grandchildren, Jessica (Dustin) Arrington, Nicole (Chad) Morris, Josh (Sarah) Fox, and Dani (Kevin Nabor) Wood; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Oakley, Lara, Taylor, Mavis, and Riley; sister, Bonnie Turman; sister-in-law, Judy May, as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
The family will welcome friends on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Services will be conducted on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Edgewood Holiness 5116 Springfield Ave., Roanoke, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider making a donation to the church.
