Funeral services for Mr. Troy Lamarr Cockerham will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Zion Baptist Church, Georgetown, with Reverends Joe Bruce, Scott Tilton, and Don Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in Zion Memorial Cemetery, Georgetown, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Cockerham, 77, of Tullos, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 08, 2023, in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Troy loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very much. He enjoyed spending time with his family, telling stories and jokes. When he was young, he loved riding horses. He enjoyed rabbit and hog hunting, running his beagles, reading western books, and listening to music. He liked to work on anything, whether it was motors, tractors, lawn mowers, or welding. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch with friends, drinking coffee and sharing memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy Cockerham; his parents, Earlis "Jack" and Bertie Cockerham; one brother, James Earlis "Bo" Cockerham; one sister, Sally Ann Flowers; five half brothers and sisters, from the Townsend family; one great grandchild, Shane "Krue" Young; and daughter-in-law, Shawna Kay Cockerham.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Jeana Cockerham of Tullos; one son, Scott Cockerham and his wife Karla, of Tullos; three daughters, Marquita Cockerham of Tullos, Tabetha Howell and her husband Willie, of Tullos, and Troyce Cockerham of Longview, Texas; ten grandchildren, Brittani Berryman, Heather Berryman, Patrick Cockerham, Hailey Cockerham, Jacob Mills, Macy Mills, Seth Mills, Gage Howell, Hannah Young, and Jake Howell; four great-grandchildren, Daxton Troy, Kylee Berryman, Alayna Denison, and Declan Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held at Zion Baptist Church, Georgetown, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. for the family and from 11:00 a.m. until time of service for friends.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Patrick Cockerham, Josh Young, Gage Howell, Jake Howell, nephew Rick Atwell, and nephew Ray Atwell.
