He was born on October 27, 1936 to the late Herbert and Lula McKinney Keaton. Elvin was a graduate of Mullens High School in West Virginia. He was employed with the Mueller Corporation in Chattanooga and retired after 30 years of service. Elvin and his wife Carol have lived in this area since 2015. A talented musician, he loved to play bluegrass music and was a member of several bands until his recent illness. He also enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Elvin was a member of Grandview Baptist Church.
Elvin is also preceded in death by his son Wendell Keaton, his brothers Henry Keaton, Basil Keaton, Ray Keaton, Robert Keaton, Larry Keaton, and Joseph Keaton, his sisters Edna Birchfield, Ethel Birchfield, Violet Wood, Helen Beach, and Shelby Keaton.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.
