Jennifer Elaine Stallings died suddenly March 14, 2008 leaving a huge hole in the world. At 36 years of age, she had a whole life ahead of her. Jennifer was born at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond. She moved to Chesapeake with her parents in December 1971. Jennifer attended Chesapeake Public Schools where she was an honor student and was on the high school flag squad. Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in William & Mary's 300th Anniversary year in 1993. During high school and college, Jennifer worked part-time as a pharmacy technician, so it wasn't a surprise when she decided to go to the MCV School of Pharmacy where she received her PharmD degree in 1997. After graduation, Jennifer became a pharmacist with Sentara Health Systems working at Virginia Beach, Bayside, Leigh, Norfolk General and Long Term Care pharmacies. Although she didn't want to be like her mom in worklife, she wound up working on weekends and on call anyway. She had just received a promotion. Jennifer especially loved her PAL (Paid Annual Leave) and took traveling vacations with friends as often as she could. She lived in Ghent, where she could walk to Stockley Garden Art shows, Harborfest and the Opera. She was an avid follower of Duke basketball and The Jon Stewart Daily Show. Jennifer was active with the Virginia Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Kenneth Alexander and Yvonne Miller will have one less vote from now on. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Valerie Stallings of Norfolk and Lindsey C. Stallings Jr. of Virginia Beach; her sister, Joni Melinda Stallings Samaan; her aunt, Sandra Stallings; and many friends and colleagues. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation of family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to a cause of your choice in Jennifer's memory or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
