He was born on December 29, 1921 to William and Ethel Gray in Lehi, Utah. He graduated from Lehi High School in 1939 and became a Master Electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local 354 for 55 years. Joseph was married on March 2, 1946 (and was preceded in death by) Norma S. Andersen. They were married for 47 years and had five children, Linda (Loren) Nelsen, Dave (Lana) Gray, Hal Gray, JoAnn (Dennis) Allen, and Betty Jean (Bob) Byers. He later married Jane Geneva Simpson on April 14, 1995. Joseph was a World War II Veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Navy between 1942-1946. He was a High Priest and Temple Worker in the LDS Church. He leaves behind his wife, Jane, his children, 12 grandsons, seven granddaughters, 17 great-grand-children, and one great-great-grandchild. Dad started a tradition - four grandsons followed in the Electrical field along with his oldest son, Dave.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tues., March 18, 2008 at Westwood Heights 1st Ward Chapel, 3975 W. Dimrall Drive (5600 S). Viewings will be held between 6-8 p.m. on Mon. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, and also one hour prior to Services at the Ward.
Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
