BENJ, PADDOCK, AGED 92, DIES AT EAST ALTON
Native of England Came Here When Youth—Employed for 40 Years at the Tile Plant
Benjamin Paddock, 92, a long time resident of East Alton and for more than 40 years an employee of the Tile Plant at East Alton, died this morning at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lillle Burk, residing east of Brighton. For the past year Paddock has made his home at Brighton.
The body was brought to Alton today and was taken to the Streeper undertaking establishment. The body will be removed to the home of Mrs. Lucy Eardley, 1114 East Main street, East Alton, Friday at 4 o'clock and the funeral will be held from the Eardley home to the East Alton Baptist Church Sunday at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Milton cemetery.
Paddock was born in England but came to America and direct to East Alton at the age of 17 years. Death was due to a general breakdown, old age being the contributing cause. Since his retirement many years ago, Paddock has resided with members of his family.
Two daughters, Mrs. Burk and Mrs. Eardley, and four sons, Allen of Salt Lake City, Ore., John of Wood River, Martin of Pueblo, Colo., and William Paddock of East Alton, survive. Mrs. Lucy James of Brighton is a sister of Mr. Paddock
