Michael G. LaPier, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George L. LaPier, was born in December 1949, in Schenectady, New York. In 1967, he graduated from Linton High School. Before joining the military, Michael attended Hudson Valley Community College.
Michael enlisted in the United States Army and began his basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey. He held the rank of Specialist (E-4) and was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. Michael worked as a legal clerk for the base. Michael died in an automobile accident on February 25, 1971, in Meriwether, Georgia.
