Mary Evelyn (Spoon) Pratt, age 87, born on December 3, 1935, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. She graduated from Rutledge High School, Valedictorian Class of 1954, and retired from Carson Newman University with twenty-three years of service. She was a long-time member of Dandridge First Baptist Church, and within the past five years, a faithful member of New Market Baptist Church. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 11. She was a Member of Kodak Eastern Star #460. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Pratt, son, Steve Pratt, father and mother, John Cleason and Lora Spoon, and brother, Don Spoon. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Chris) Chambers, daughter in-law, Iris (Pratt) Trent, grandchildren, Jason (Carrie) Chambers, Adam (Christi) Chambers, Noah Pratt, and Katie (Josh Hatcher), great granddaughters, Elizabeth Chambers and Adalynn Chambers, brother, Buddy (Joni) Spoon, sister-in-law, Jean Spoon, sisters, Gail (Hugh) Gose and Jewel (Jerry) Roderick, also several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at New Market Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Robertson and Dr. J.W. Taylor officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
