"The Tribune" 4 Dec 1939, Page 12, Column 5: "Rocco Grippo Dies After Long Illness - Rocco Grippo, 115 McNichols Court, died Saturday at 5:20 p.m. at the Hahnemann Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Grippo, a native of Italy was a resident of Scranton the past 27 years. He was a member of St. Lucy's Church and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife Filomena: four sons, Gaetano, August, Thomas and Anthony; two daughters, Anna and Mrs. Paul Bernardo, all of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Albi, Rochester, N.Y. The body has been removed to the Di Blasi Funeral Home, 120 South Main Avenue, from where the funeral will be held."

A high mass of requiem was celebrated at 9:30 o'clock in St. Lucy's Church by Rev. William Madden. Rev. Salvatore Florey was deacon of the mass and Rev. Gerald McCabe, subdeacon. Daniel O'Hearn presided at the organ and Mrs. Catherine Bernardo was the soloist. -- Interment was in cathedral cemetery, where Father Florey officiated at the graveside. The casket bearers were: Anthony Masso, Lorenzo Falduto, Anthony DiSavino, Joseph Partanova, Frank Dutcchio and Andrew Russoniello."
