Alice Mae Brown of St. Clair, Mo., was born on Nov. 22, 1929, at West Plains, Mo., the daughter of Arvilla Day nee Davis and the late Oscar David Day. On March 31, 1950, she was united in marriage to Maynard Max Brown, and they were blessed to have three children. Alice departed this life on Dec. 29, 1991 having reached the age of sixty-two years, one month and seven days.
She is survived by her mother, Arvilla Day of Koshkonong, Mo; by two sons, Ronnie D. Brown and wife, Beverly, and Dennis R. Brown and wife, Chris, all of St. Louis; by one daughter, Susie Stevenson and husband, Tim, of St. Clair; by two brothers, Paul Day and wife, Bernice, of Winona, Mo., and Carl Day and wife, Iva, of Koshkonong, Mo.; by two sisters, Lorene Bussell and husband, Marvin, of West Plains, Mo., and Louise Golden of Grand Junction, Colorado; by ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Max Brown, on Nov. 6, 1991; by one brother, David Day; and by three sisters, Lucille Golden, Hazel Fetrow and Dowan Hunsberger.Alice was a Christian and had attended the Pentecostal Church of God in St. Clair, Mo. For many years she had been employed as an assembler at Buscher's Pipe Factory in Washington, Mo. One of Alice's favorite pastimes was raising houseplants and flowers in her garden. She enjoyed listening to music, especially hymns, and during the last few weeks of her life she was inspired to write words of inspiration for her beloved family in the form of songs. Nothing meant more to her than her dear family and the love Alicee has created for them all will be treasured in their hearts forever. A kind and loving daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1991 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, Mo., with Rev. Eugene Hudson officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park near St. Clair, Missouri
