During his time with the Athletics, he played shortstop and 2nd. base positions. His stats for this time were a batting average of .217, one home run, and 13 runs batted in all in 128 games. He played his final game on September 27, 1958. Prior to becoming a professional player, he attended Mission High School, where he also played baseball. He also saw time in the minor league with the San Francisco Seals and the Buffalo Bisons in 1955 and 1957. He passed away from natural causes at the age of 92.
