Emanuel Becker of 658 Sunset, died at the Russell City Hospital died Friday evening, Oct 20, 1972, after a short illness. He was 81 years old.

He was born August 20, 1891, at Milberger,KS, and was a lifelong resident of Russell County and was well known in the Russell and Barton County areas. He was the son of Jacob and Amelia (Strecker) Becker, and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger and was a member of United Emanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger at the time of his death. He was married to the former Bertha Steinert on October 21, 1916 in the Lutheran Church at Milberger.

A retired farmer and cattleman, he and his wife and daughter moved to Russell from the family farm in 1947.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; two sons, LaVern and Marvin of Russell; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Elaine) Earlywine of LaPorte, IN; nine grandchildren, Mrs. Wayne Funk; Mrs. Ron Botka; Stephan, Mike, Marty, Laura, and Paul Becker; and David and Leanna Earlywine; one great-grandson, Douglas Funk; five sisters: Mrs. Leah Himes and Eleanora Becker of Russell; Mrs. George Borell of Dighton; Mrs. Ed Stoppel of Los Animas, CA; and Mrs. Ernestine Keil of Great Bend, KS; His parents, four sisters and a brother proceded him in death.
