Willie retired from General Motors in Anderson after 26 ½ years of service. He enjoyed Fishing, hunting, making walking sticks and working in the yard with his roses. Willie was a member of Middletown Church of The Nazarene, Middletown Lions Club and UAW Local 662.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Griggs-Abbott; his children, Rebecca Abbott and David Abbott; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; siblings, Cora Eller, Jean McDaniel, Ernest Abbott, Lincoln Abbott, Lorine (David) Combs and Linda (Louie) Sayer.
In addition to his parents Willie is preceded in death by his siblings, Fred Abbott, Christine McDaniel and Thomas Ray Abbott.
Services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday April 19, 2023 at Middletown Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Phil Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service.
