Shadrick Noah Galyean was born Dec.24, 1801 in Ashe County, North Carolina, the son of Samuel Gallion and Mary (Molly) Toliver and the grandson of Jacob Gallion and Elizabeth Arnold. Shadrick married Mahalia Rector Nov.8, 1822 and they were the parents of 13 children. Mahalia died Sept.4, 1844 after the birth of their 13th child. On Feb.21, 1848 Shadrick married Rutha K.Lowe the daughter of James and Martha Patsy Lowe. Shadrick was 25 years older than Rutha. In 1859 they moved with their four daughters and some of Shadricks children to Benton County, Arkansas. Shadrick and Rutha had eight children, the last four were born in Arkansas. Shadrick died May 30, 1877 in Hiwasse, Benton County, Arkansas, USA. He was buried in Hiwasse in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Benton County, Arkansas. Rutha died 1898. She was buried in Hiwasse Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Shadrick/Shadrack Noah Gallion later changed his name to GALYEAN. He m. 1st Mahalia Rector died in Va. and 2nd Ruth(a) K. Lowe.
Ruth was half his age.
Shadrick migrated to Arkansas in the 1850's and had a total of 21 children from both wives.
Two of 3 sons served in the 2nd Cherokee Mounted Rifles in the Civil War. One son was killed in action in the war.

Early family was from Maryland.
