ASTORIA - Collis W. Trone, age 86, of 301 E. Washington, Astoria, Ill., passed away at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, in the Morton Villa Care Center in Morton, Ill. He was born on April 9, 1920, in Astoria, a son of Harry L. and Beulah (Bollinger) Trone. Collis married Ruth Stambaugh on Dec. 6, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives. Collis graduated from York College in York, Neb., as a minister. He served in the ministry in Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois, including Browning and Astoria, Ill., retiring in 2002. He served as minister for the Church of Christ in five church congregations. He also was employed for the village of Astoria in their water treatment plant for 11 years. He was a member of the Astoria Town Board for two years. Collis is survived by his wife Ruth of Astoria; three sons, Eddie (and Gloria) of Folkston, Ga., Jerry (and Sharon) of Pekin, Ill., and David (and Sharon) of Keokuk, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Linda (and Greg) Cerminara of Shelton, Conn.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Rahrig of Coldwater, Mich. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Trone Jr. Services will be held on Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria at 2 p.m. Greg Cerminara will officiate. Interment will be in the South Fulton Cemetery in Astoria. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 15th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Family visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the World Bible School, Box 2169, Cedar Park, TX 78630.
