Teresa Gaines Rapp, age 66, of Fleming Island, Florida, passed away early Saturday morning, November 5, 2016. Teresa was born in Miami, Oklahoma on October 31,, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Holly & Loretta Lawlis. Teresa grew up in Miami and graduated from Miami High School. She studied accounting and worked at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the early 1970's.
Teresa married Steve Gaines, late guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, and together they had a daughter Corrina in 1974. The family moved to Fleming Island, Florida, in 1977. Steve Gaines passed away in the Skynyrd plane crash in October 1977.
Teresa then married Barry Rapp, also a musician, in 1982. Together they had a daughter, Alicia, in 1983.
Teresa was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing on the Country Club Circuit through the 1980s. In 1996, she purchased Windemere Equestrian Center in support of her daughter Alicia's love for horses.
Teresa leaves behind her husband, Barry Rapp of Fleming Island, Florida. Children: Corrina Gaines Biemiller, and her husband John, Jacksonville, Florida & Alicia Rapp Thames, and her husband Adam, Tampa, Florida. Her grandchildren: Steve Gaines Biemiller & Vanessa Biemiller, Jacksonville, Florida. Siblings: Gaylene Henley, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, & Gabe Lawlis, Claremore, Oklahoma.
