Jesse Zimmerman Dies in Hospital after Long Illness. Jesse C. Zimmerman, 54, World War I veteran, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday in Will Rogers hospital, Oklahoma City, after a long illness. Services were at 3 p.m. Monday in the Methodist church here with Brodace Elkins, minister, officiating. Burial was in the Green Valley cemetery southwest of Carnegie. Pitcher's Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. Jesse Casper Zimmerman was born Nov. 16, 1896, at Kingfisher. At the age of 7 he moved with his parents to a farm south of Mountain View. He was married to Johnnie Jones Nov. 29, 1917, at Mountain View. He was inducted into the army medical corps in July, 1918, and was discharged in June, 1919. Seven months of this time was spent in France. Following the war, he farmed in the community south of Mountain View until two years ago when his health failed and he moved to Carnegie. He has spent much of the time in the hospital since moving to Carnegie. He became seriously ill May 7 and was returned to the hospital. Mr. Zimmerman was converted and joined the Methodist church here on Mother's Day last year and was a member at the time of his death. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Johnnie Zimmerman of the home; three sons, Amos, Dennis and J.C., all of Mountain View; his father, J.H. Zimmerman, Carnegie; a brother, Estil Zimmerman, Fort Cobb, and five sisters, Mrs. Stella Berry, Mountain View; Mrs. Laura Madden, Carnegie; Mrs. Essie Patterson, Norman; Mrs. Opal Rhodes, Vinita, and Mrs. Eva Patterson, Shawnee. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Mary Carol, Jana Sue and Roger Lynn Zimmerman. All of the near relatives were here for the funeral except Mrs. Rhodes who is seriously ill in an Oklahoma City hospital.
