Here Last Saturday
. . Mr. John B. Adams, aged 62 years, M 6 months and 23 days, died at his home in Hillsboro, Texas, Friday morning, June 23, 1933, at 11:05 clock, after an extended illness.
. .The remains were brought to. Meridian Saturday morning where funeral services were held at the grave in Meridian Cemetery at 10 :30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. E. W. Bridges, pastor of the First Methodist Church Hillsboro, who was assisted by Rev. E. R. Gordon, pastor of the Meridian Methodist church. Mr. Adams was a son of the late Capt. and Mrs. J. W. Adams, pioneer settlers of this county, and was born near Valley Mills, in the Hog Creek community, but resided in Meridian most of his life, until Moving to Hillsboro three years ago. He was engaged in the barber business here over 35 years. He was a member of the Meridian Methodist church and a member of Cottonwood Camp, W. O. W. of Meridian:
. . Surviving are his widow, four children, Mrs. FIoyd Hollingsworth of HilIsboro, Mrs. Gordon C. Shook, of Pearl, Willard Adams of Brownwood, and Johnnie Adams of HilIsboro, also two grandchildren; two brothers, Geo. 1. Adams of Austin, and Hugh Adams of Meridian. six sisters, Mrs. Glad sSnodgrass, Mrs. Ed Johnson and Miss Ona Adams of Floydada, Mrs. W. S. Moss of Mansfield, Mrs. Levi A. Dunlap and Mrs. Mattie Sears of Meridian, all of who were at the funeral except Mrs. Johnson and Miss Ona Adams.
. . Mr. Adams was an honorable and useful citizen, a kind brother, husband and father, a sincere friend, a Courteous and obliging neighbor and a man who endeavored to perform every duty honestly, faithfully and well. The Tribune joins in sympathizing with his widow, children, relatives and Friends who mourn his departure.
