The son of James Lemuel Gammon (1872-1958) and Viola Hipp (1876-1960). Married (1) Bessie Clark, and (2) Helen Christine Conway, 19 October 1945. After 37 years with Life of Georgia, Mr. Gammon retired to the family farm in Mt. Zion. He served as a member (1968-1969), and then as Chairman (1969-1987), of the Carroll County Board of Education. He was a member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church.
