Billerica marriages: FASSIT (see Fasset), John and Mary Hill, Mar. 31, 1697
Bedford deaths: FASSET (see Fassett), John, Dr., Jan. 30, 1736-7, in 67th y. [Fassett, G.R.]
Parents: Patrick Fassett, Sarah Reyley.
He was the first resident physician and the the first treasurer of Bedford.
The Fassetts were of Scottish origin.
From contributor VJ4010: I can confirm, looking at the original vital records (not an index or copy) that John's birth was recorded at Charlestown, but under the name 'John, son of Patrick and Sarah MackFacie' on 3 Oct 1670 - this is where the idea comes from that Patrick Fassett's original name was a variant of that, I've seen some speculate even 'MacPherson"
