Mrs. Nellie Hawkins Dies in Farm Home
Mrs. Nellie B. Hawkins, 74, widow of Rodney C. Hawkins, died a [sic] 2:10 a. m. Monday in her home on rural route 5, near Decatur. She had been ill since July, suffering from a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Hawkins was born in Sangamon Aug. 16, 1860. She had resided near Sangamon all her life and was a member of the Universalist church there. She was the last of her father's family. She leaves three children, John R. Hawkins and Mrs. Bessie Stites, Decatur, and Mrs. Amy Calvert, Weldon. There are three step-sons, Arthur Hawkins, Decatur; Alva Hawkins, Toledo, Ore., and Harvey Hawkins, Hammond, Ill. There are two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The body was taken to the Moran & Sons funeral home.
