Peter Doyle, 81 years of age and for 62 years a resident of Moody County, died at 1:15 Monday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at the Catholic Church.

Peter Doyle was born on October 23, 1863 to Michael Doyle and Mary Cahill. He was baptized and confirmed in the Roman Catholic faith. In 1882, at the age of 19 , he moved to Moody County, SD and farmed near his father and brother Frank. On June 9, 1890, he married Rose Secora who was born on September 9, 1867 of Polish emigrants. The couple had 6 sons. Sadly Rose died of blood poisoning one week after George Patrick Doyle was born. On September 27th, 1903 he married Dena Hermanda Larson. The couple went on to have 7 more sons and one daughter.

Peter died on August 28, 1944 of natural causes. At the time of his death 3 of his sons were in military service.
