Lowell "Butch" Bowman passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Banner Boswell Hospital in Sun City, Arizona.

Service is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2023 at First Congregational United Church Church in DeWitt, IA. The visitation will begin at 10 A.M. followed by a service at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt, Iowa.

Lowell "Butch" Bowman was born July 1, 1938 in Maquoketa, Iowa and was the son of Edelman T & Zelda Bowman. Lowell was united in marriage to Beverly Gast on April 2, 1961 in DeWitt, Iowa where they resided until 1973. Lowell and Beverly owned Town Coffee Shop in DeWitt Iowa until they moved. After 1973 they moved to Marshalltown, Iowa where he operated the Thunderbird Restaurant until 1985 when they moved to Sun City, Arizona where he owned and managed Bell Travel with Penney Edwards until his retirement.

Butch was known for his amazing sense of humor, he was always quick witted, and was the life of any party he attended. He was always the one with a camera around his neck or iPad in hand at family events taking pictures. Butch enjoyed spending his time golfing and getting to know people, He always had a joke to tell. Butch was an active member in his church in Sun City where he sang in the choir on Sundays. Butch was very active in the local theater troops in Sun City, where he would always put on the best performances. Butch loved to travel the world through his travel agency with his closest friends and family.

Butch is survived by his sister Mary Jo (Phil) Brooks, sister in laws, Janet Bowman, Sylvia Bowman, Patsy Sterk, Joyce Erling, daughter in law Diane Bowman, grandchildren Brandon (Jamie) Bowman, Amanda (Mitch) Allison, Austin (Shelby) Bowman, great grandchildren Lauryn and Tay. Along with several nieces and nephews.

In death Butch will be reunited with his beloved wife Beverly, mother and father Edelman T and Zelda Bowman, sons Kevin Bowman and Kreg Bowman, brothers Ronald Bowman, Robert Bowman, Richard (Aryln) Bowman, sisters Barbara (Dan) Elmgreen, Bernadine (George) Rasche,Betty(Lester) Beck and brother in laws Larry Erling and George Sterk.
