Services for Paul Samuel Detwiler, 74, of 4005 6th St., Rock Island, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fairman Mortuary, Green Rock, with the Rev. Alfred Noakes, pastor of Gloria Dei United Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, officiating. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estates, Moline.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Detwiler died Saturday at Lutheran Hospital.
He was born in Cherry Box, Mo. He married Kathryn Taylor in Kansas City, Mo., in 1941.
He worked as a Rock Island Lines brakeman, retiring in 1971. He also was employed as a barber in Milan and Silvis.
He was a member of Gloria Dei United Presbyterian Church, the Rock Island Moose Lodge and the United Transportation Union.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Sandi Puder, Colona, and Mrs. Juanita Thomas, Medford, Ore.; a son, Paul, of Freeport; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Kreider, Palmyra, Mo., and Mrs. Freda Pfile, Freeport, and three brothers, Jonas, of Lena, Ill., Earl, of Kirksville, Mo., and John, of Dakota, Ill.
