The following is a direct quote from an unpublished manuscript titled
"A Genealog of Detweilers in America" Written by Ezra H. Detweiler, Johnstown, PA. I inherited this manuscript from one of his descendants. Ezra started this book in the 1930s and died before it was finsihed.

"William is the son of John G. and Magdalena or Martha Hershey Detwiler.
William married a second time to Barbara Reber.

W. H. Detwiler, Retired Farmer, Dies at Wellman
Wellman- William Hershey Detwiler, 77, retired farmer died at 6 a.m. today at his home here.
He was born September 25, 1877, a son of John and Magdalene Hershey Detwiler and was married in February, 1902, to the former Barbara Reber, August 10, 1933, at her home in Johnson county near Kalona. The couple farmed in the Kalona area until retiring and moving to Wellman three years ago. Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Jessia Kreider, of Palmyria, Mo. and Mrs. Orvis Pfile, of Freeport, Ill., and four sons, Paul S., of Rock Island, Ill., Jonas W. of Cedarville, Ill., Earl of Leonard Mo., and John W. of Freeport, Ill. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite church with the Revs. John Y. Swartzendruber and Paul T. Guengerich, officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Deer Creek cemetery. The body will remain at the Powell funeral home, Wellman, until time of the services not as yet set.

William Detwiler and Barbara Reber had no children but William and his first wife Barbara Dettwiler Detwiler had six children:Ruth, Paul Samuel, Freda Elizabeth, Jonas Wenger, Earl Oliver and John William.
