MORTON - Glenn Edward Getz, 81, of Morton, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge Home for the Handicap.

Glenn was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Tremont, Ill., to the late Silas and Elizabeth (Getz) Getz.

Though Glenn faced many challenges in his lifetime regarding his health, he was an active participator and resident at his Apostolic Christian Home for more than 36 years.

He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

Glenn is survived by his niece and her husband, Sharon and Lyman O. Baier Sr. of Pleasant Hill, Tenn.; and a host of dear relatives in Illinois and Ohio.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Silas and Elizabeth (Getz) Getz; and sisters, Helen Heckel and Verla Getz.

Graveside services in Glenn's honor were held Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Mansfield Memorial Park. In addition, a special memorial service celebrating Glenn's life will be held in April at the Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicap in Morton, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge Home for the Handicap, 2125 Veteran Road, Morton, IL 61550.

Wappner Funeral Directors of Mansfield, Ohio, assisted the family with arrangements and services.
