(Castile, NY, Castilian, January 22, 1892) George W. Botsford, of Genesee Falls, died on Friday morning aged 83 years. He was a man of vigorous constitution, and in excellent health until the week preceding his death when he was prostrated with the grip which resulted in acute pneumonia. Mr. Botsford was born in Milford, Conn., March 9, 1809, and removed to Genesee Falls in 1845, being one of the pioneer citizens of that town, and a man held in the highest esteem. Mr. Botsford was first married to Miss Conklin, of Castile, sister of William H. Conklin, of Olean, and one son was born of this marriage, William H. Botsford, of Jamestown. After her death he married Mrs. Abigail Bliss Rogers, who died in 1872. The only child of this union was George W. Botsford, now District Attorney of Wyoming County. He is survived also by one sister, Mrs. Mary Clark of Connecticut, now 88 years of age.
