Otis Daniel Cooper, 75, a cherished father and a local Georgetown businessman finished his earthly journey on Saturday afternoon, March 25, 2023, at Oak Hollow Nursing Home, Georgetown.

Mr. Cooper was born the son of James Madison Cooper and Mary High Cooper on October 30, 1947, in Georgetown, SC.

He was the sixth born of seven siblings: Milton "Coopie", Harris "Mut", Louise, WD, Lynwood, and Terry.

He was a 1967 graduate of Winyah High School and a 1969 graduate of the Columbia Business College. He was a Test Boardman for General Telephone Company and the owner of James M. Cooper and Son Lumber and Building Company. He grew up as part of the Front St. Pentecostal Holiness Church family and attended the Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was instrumental in the building of the Fireside Ministries Church, was a former member and deacon of the Murrells Inlet Church of God and supported many other ministries in the Georgetown area. He was a skillful hunter whose nickname was "Dead-eye" because he loved deer hunting.

He leaves behind three children, Monica D. Schneider (Chris), Daniel Lanier Cooper, and Patrick Sean Cooper; one granddaughter, Gabby Schneider; siblings, Louise Altman, Lynwood Cooper, and Terry Cooper (Darlene); and a large number of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his siblings, Milton "Coopie", Harris "Mut", and WD.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 3PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in the Pennyroyal Memorial Garden Mausoleum directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie of Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Jamie Harrelson.

The Cooper family will greet family and friends immediately after service.

Memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
