Bill C. Clanton
Bill C. Clanton, of Midland, passed away March 4, 2008.

He was born June 25, 1928 in Howard County, Texas to James Corbett Clanton and Pearlie Lee Heath. He attended Gayhill Grammar School, Big Spring High School, Howard County Junior College and Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelors Degree in 1951. On August 16, 1952 he married Billie L. Pigg in Midland, Texas. Bill was a member of Tech-Alpha Chi, Midland West Rotary Club where he served as past President, and the American Heart Association as past President. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Cope Clanton; sister, Dorothy Stall; and brothers, Charles Fox Clanton and Morris Clanton.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Billie of Midland, Texas; daughter, Missy Madrid of Midland, Texas; grandsons, Reese Madrid of Lubbock, Texas; Chad Madrid of Midland, Texas; sisters, Dorcas Bishop of Round Rock, Texas; Pearlie Mae Stringfellow of Hendersonville, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his kind and loving heart, and a fabulous strong voice that emitted from his slight frame. He always had a joke and/or an encouraging story to uplift whomever crossed his path. He was and always will be a precious beloved father that always had time for his children and family.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 7, 2008 at North "A" Church of Christ with Greg Fleming and Amos Palma officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
