He was born June 27, 1916, in Logansport, to Garfield Sr. and Dorothy Chilcott. He was a graduate of Knightstown High School and had lived in the Monticello community for the last 69 years.
Mr. Chilcott retired from Alcoa Inc. in Lafayette, where he worked for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds and watching them on television. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, billiards and playing cards.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon A. Shirley of Carmel; a son, Gary L. Chilcott of Ontario, Calif.; and a brother, Jack Chilcott of Elkhart.
