Martha Jane Sherouse Baxley and John Christopher Baxley in 1940. The automobile in the photo was owned by their daughter Eddie (Eddie Virginia) Townsend who lived in Dade County, Florida, hence the "1-number" on the license plate.

John Christopher Baxley obituary from the Gainesville Sun newspaper June 16, 1942.

(Please note that there are some typographical errors in this obituary, especially in the names of his children. It seems they were hung up on trying to put Y in the initials of several in error.)
