Dorothy M. "Dottie" (Hess) Bonebrake, 95, passed Monday, March 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jacob M. Bonebrake, Jr, who passed March 9, 1999.

Dottie was born May 14, 1927, in Franklin Co., the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Elsie M. (Gardenhour) Hess.

Dottie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown, where she was also a member of the Sunshine Sisters. She was a volunteer at the East Berlin Food Bank, and was also a member of East Berlin Community Center, United Hook & Ladder #33, East Berlin V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Hanover Elks Ladies Auxiliary, and former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Abbottstown Fire Company for 35 years.

Dottie is survived by one son, Greg Bonebrake and his companion Katie of New Oxford, two daughters, Jennifer L. Smith of Hagerstown, MD, and Lorri G. Bishard and her husband Brian of Abbottstown, a daughter-in-law, Danni Bonebrake of Hagerstown, MD, ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffere M. Bonebrake, and his grandchildren Hailie and Tarin, and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11 AM, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Water St, Abbottstown, with her pastor, Rev. Shawn Berkebile officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
