Herman Gilpin, 68, of Pawnee, a retired farmer, died at 8:30pm Friday at Park Memorial Home at Auburn.

Born in Petersburg the son of WG and Edith Parsons Gilpin, he was a member of the New City United Methodist Church and Woodside Community Club. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Akin Gilpin; two daughters, Mrs Robert (Juanita) King of Pawnee, Mrs James (Betty) Hammond of Blue Mound; eight grandchildren; seven sisters, Mrs Elsie Barnes of Taylorville, Mrs Flossie Akins of Coolidge, Ariz., Mrs Louise Buckles of Elkhart, Mrs Dora Hendrich of Pleasant Plains, Mrs Mary Clark of Chatham, Mrs Irene Crain of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs Elma Patrick of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, George of Edinburgh, Chester of Tempe, Ariz.

Services will be held at 1:30pm Tuesday at Wilson Park Funeral Home at Rochester with Rev Vernon Saldeen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Buckhart.
