On March 9, 2023, we mournfully announce the passing of Shirley Roberts (Mom) at Bethel Home, where she resided for the last three years. She served a difficult battle with genetic inheritance of Frontaltemporal Dementia, a lifelong heart murmur leading to Cardiomyopathy, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her closest loved ones. Shirley was a loving, dedicated daughter, born on October 25, 1941. She was brought into this world by parents, Clarence and Lillian Hunt. Lillian's last name before marriage was Benedict. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, two sisters, and one brother. She leaves behind daughters Cheryl, Sandy, Rhonda and their children, Mom's grandchildren Ashlyn, Chelsea, Alisha, Amber, Ryan and her great grandchildren Haley, Chloe, Aiden, Zed and Caleb, and Lyla. A Wife, Mother, and Friend who was kind, caring and giving - someone who selflessly, always put the needs of family and friends before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in life with as much courage, strength, and dignity that she could muster. Our mother was a source of inspiration to all who knew her and the lives she touched and will be deeply missed by anyone who knew the "real" person. Mother was fiercely dedicated to her husband, Doug. She tried to be tenacious, brave, strong, loyal, and independent and raised three equally tenacious, brave, strong, loyal, and independent children. Mom was our biggest and constant supporter. Our family would not be where it is today if we didn't have her as a mother. In loving memory, we remember her as a devoted wife to Douglas Roberts and loving mother to Cheryl, Sandy and Rhonda. She will be deeply missed by all who knew the person before Frontotemporal Dementia took away from the "real" person. Please respect Shirley's family privacy as she and her daughters request no services be held. Those who didn't visit while Shirley was alive can think of her within their time capsule. Mother's ashes are buried at Lakeview Memorial in an established lot in Oshkosh WI. This where friends can find her resting next to her husband, Douglas Roberts.
