With loved one gathered about her, Mrs. Lucy Briel passed away on Monday evening at 7:15 o'clock June 6, 1932.
Mrs. Briel was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hugar. She was born in Covington Township, May 7, 1860, making her age 72 years, and one month.
Everyone knew and loved Mrs. Briel, her sympathy and kindness among her neighbors was particularly marked; who has looked for the best in others and given the best she had. She never tired of administering to her family where every duty was a labor of love cheerfully performed. Mrs. Briel's life was in inspiration whose memory is a benediction.
The funeral services were held in Sts. John and Paul roman Catholic Church in Frenchville on Thursday, where a large concourse of her friends were assembled to pay tribute to their dear friend.
Mrs. Briel is survived by the following: Mrs. Frances Maines, Woodland, Miss Ida Briel, Osceola Mills, Henrietta and Geneva of Philadelphia, Mrs. Maude G. Maines, Miss Cecilia, George and James of Karthaus.
Clair and James Maines of Philadelphia attended their grandmother's funeral here last week.

Mrs. Lucy Ann Francis Briel, aged 72, widow of Samuel Briel, died at her home in Karthaus on Monday night, June 6, at 7:15 o'clock. Death resulted from a complication of diseases which followed an illness of several months.
Funeral services will be held in the Frenchville Catholic Church on Thursday morning, June 9, at 10:30 o'clock. Interment in the Frenchville Cemetery.
