LATE MRS. A. A. PICKER
After suffering a long period of failing health, Mrs. Adeline Amelia Picker, relict of the late Frederick Picker, passed away at her residence "Sunny View," Bigga, on Monday, March 9, at the age of 77 years.
The deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Marks and was born at Markdale in 1876. In 1898 she married Frederick Picker, at Binda, and continued to live in the Bigga district for the remainder of her life.
In her younger days the late Mrs. Picker was a conscientious worker for her church and was always to the fore when any effort was promoted for charity. She was also intensely proud of her native district and took a keen interest in its development.
She was a loving and extremely devoted mother and of homely disposition. Her great joy existed in the lovely flower gardens which surrounded her home and she spent many happy hours tending the soil and the numerous plants.
There were two sons of the marriage, Douglas Harold, of "Sunny View," Bigga, and Morton, of "Waratah," Bigga, who are left to mourn the passing of a loved and loving mother.
Following a service in All Saint's Church, Bigga, conducted by the Rev. T. H. Pickburn, the mortal remains were laid to rest in the C. of E. portion of the Bigga cemetery before a large gathering of mourners and surrounded by a wealth of beautiful floral tributes.
The Rev. Pickburn also officiated at the graveside and Messrs. Reg. Bruce and Lloyd Picker and Ron Howard acted as pallbearers.
Messrs. T. E. Kennedy & Son had charge of the funeral arrangements.
