Note: Born in January VS March
At the time of his birth the Julian calendar was in use. This meant the calendar year began on March 25, not January 1. In 1752 the calendar year was changed to the Gregorian calendar, which begins the year on January 1. The record I have found for his birth is as follows: "Jonathan sonne of Tho: and mary Addams the (6) of the (1) mo: 1646". This means March 6, 1646. Because he was born before the 25th of March, researchers differ on his year of birth being 1645 or 1646.
