Son of Louis Kohn and Sarah Jane (Houser) Kohn. He married Alma Cleves and they had one daughter Romayne. He is buried beside his mother and sister.

OBITUARY of Frank Kohn, died at Throttle
Frank J. Kohn, an engineer on the Kansas City Northwestern, fell from his seat in the cab of his engine in Kansas City, Kansas, Saturday afternoon, July 20, 1912 and died a few moments later. Heart failure is given as the cause of his death. A few moments or hours later and his engine would have been on the road. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday after noon at the Scottish Riet Masonic Temple in Kansas City, Kansas of which body he was a member and interment was made in that city. Kohn was born and raised in Seneca, Kansas. He was 40 years of age and was the eldest of the family of 13 children of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kohn. Mrs. Anna Scott of Seneca, is a sister. Besides his brother and sisters he leaves a wife, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Cleve of this city and a little daughter.

Obituary; The Heat Fatal to One
F. J. Koh, an Engineer, died on duty-two others overcome
The combined heat of the day and an engine cab proved fatal yesterday afternoon to Frank J. Kohn, a Missouri Pacific Railroad engineer. He fell unconscious as he stood at the throttle of his moving engine on the main track near the Quindaro water works and died almost instantly.
Kohn was 33 years old. He lived at 3333 Wood Avenue on the Kansas side and was a 32 degree Mason there. He had worked for the Missouri Pacific 16 years. His wife is prostated.
