Major League Baseball Player. For five-seasons (1968 to 1972), he was a left-handed pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos and Chicago Cubs. Born Daniel Michael McGinn, he attended Cathedral High School in Nebraska, where he played football and baseball. He received a scholarship to play football at the University of Notre Dame and continued to play baseball there on the collegiate level. Initially drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1965, he was selected by Cincinnati Reds during the 1st round of the 1966 January MLB Draft Secondary-Phase. He made his Major League debut on September 3, 1968 and pitched in 14 games that year. Acquired by Montreal during the 1968 MLB Expansion Draft, he had the distinction of being on the Expos' roster during their inaugural season (1969). In 1969, he produced a career-high 74 games pitched and 112 strike outs in 132 innings-pitched. In 210 career regular season games, he compiled a 15 win, 20 loss record with lifetime 5.11 ERA, in 408 innings-pitched. After retiring as a player, he served as a scout with the Philadelphia Phillies. He also worked as an account manager with AT&T.
