She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Barbara attended District #12 grade school and graduated from Kramer High School in 1936. She married Ruben Arndt on November 18, 1936, at the Immanuel Lutheran Parsonage in Columbus. They farmed and lived on the home place where Barbara was born. Barbara was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a lifelong resident of Platte County. She enjoyed doing her yard work, raising her flowers, and caring for her cats. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
