Daniel Fried Jr. was married to Malinda Dilbeck Fried until her death 1876. His Grandson wrote about Daniel and Malinda Fried.

Daniel Fried Jr. married Malinda Dilbeck. The Dilbeck's had came from Pennsylvania through Georgia. Malinda was born in Gerogia. They came First to the Little Rock Area by Wagon Train then came onto Polk County. Malinda Dilbeck was the granddaughter of Captain Benjamin Goss who had been a Captain in the War of 1812. A few years ago, they had a memorial service for him at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery where a monument was erected to him.

The Goss's of Mena were also decendants. It was supposed that he got his land in Arkansas for his part in the War 1812.
Daniel's wife died 1876 after they had four children. Moses Benjamin Freid was the fourth child, than he died of "Yellar Janders" in 1879. The young bride could not take care of that many children, so her four step-children went to their grandparents, who kept them for about two years until they died.
