Son of Ithamar and Mary (Dwiggins) Hunt.
Mother, Mary Dwiggins Hunt lived in Zimri's home in the 1880 census.
Her birth, 1789 was recorded in her father Robert Dwiggins notes.

Attended Caldwell Institute in Greensboro, North Carolina.

1844--Taught school in Missouri

1845--1846 Studied Law in Mississippi

Moved to Texas in December 1846-continuing his studies in Law while he taught school.

November 18, 1850/ sworn into the Texas House of Representatives.

1862/Served in the Ninth Texas Legislature/Rep. of Austin Co.

CW-Served in Sixteenth Texas Infantry

1866--Attended the CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION.

November 17, 1866--married Fannie L. Springfield.

1877--Elected a District Court Judge after moving to Dallas,Tx.
1880--Served as a Dallas City Coucilman
