Donald "Don" Partlow, 63, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at his home with his family at his side, following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 5, 1937, to Lincoln and Viola (Hamilton) Partlow in Eau Claire. Don married Susan Ruth Tiller at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire on August 16, 1958. He worked at H&L Men's Shop in Eau Claire for many years. He also managed an overhead door company until starting his own business, American Overhead Door Company, with his Son. He enjoyed playing dartball, softball, fishing and being the "life of the party," but his greatest joy was time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. Survivors include his loving and caring wife, Sue; two sons, John (Gail) of Chisago City, Minn., and Mark (Sue) of Mondovi; daughter, Ann (John) Helland of Eagan, Minn.; four grandchildren, Joey, Emily, Bailey and Benjamin; two brothers, Gerald (Carol) of Oakdale, Minn., and Tom (Barb) of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leol and Richard. Don was an example of strength and courage and kept his humor to the very end. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and his many friends and relatives.
