Ronald Gary Byles, Sr., 70, passed away after a brief battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, with Rev. T. J. Boyd and Douglas Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Robeline, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, from 5:00 pm 9:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Byles and Iva Byles; his sisters, Jo Ann Barnhill, Shirley French; and his brothers, Charles Byles, Raymond Byles, Terry Byles, Jimmy Byles, and Reed Byles

Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, Mary Lu Byles; his precious daughter, Kasey Byles Cain; his loving son, Ron Byles and wife Lacy Byles, both of Natchitoches, LA. Ronnie had 3 grandchildren he adored, Nathan Cain, Addison Byles, and Madeleine Byles. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn Byles; and his sisters, Billy Sue Settle and Linda Bernard.

Ronnie was a hard worker all his life, until he retired from Valley Farmers Co-Op. After retirement, he continued to work part time. He was a quiet man, but so talented. He was a mastery of the piano, even teaching it. He played the piano at Calvary Baptist Church where he and Mary Lu loved to sing. Ronnie was also an artist. He painted so many pictures and was a member of the Art Gallery Association of Natchitoches. Ronnie could take a bitter weed and turn it into a beautiful flower. He loved to grow orchids.

Ronnie loved to spend time with his grandkids, whether it would be teaching them piano, playing with the ducks and birds, or just sitting and listening to them.

Ronnie and Mary Lu loved working in their yard and it was always beautiful.

Our family would love to thank the nurses and staff of Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. A special thanks to Dr. Anil Matta and Dr. Sujatha Gubbala for the care they gave Ronnie and our family. We will always love them for that. We would also like to thank Dr. Furqan Akhtar and the staff at NRMC Cancer Center.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Johnny Lewis, Mark Kilgore, Terry Kilgore, Mark Doolittle, David Rachal, and Clayton Bernard. Honorary pallbearers will be Arden Settle, Glenn Byles, Nathan Cain, Rodney Allen, and Lanie Allen.
