27 Feb 2008: Loretta N. Kubica, 85, passed away February 26, 2008 at her Harrisburg home. She was born September 18, 1922 in White Haven, PA to the late Allen and Anna (Miller) Best. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, The Friendship Senior Center, and the Lower Paxton Golden Age. She was honored by the Dauphin County Area Agency for the Aging for her philanthropic contributions to develop senior agencies. She was also very proactive in activities and services to the senior community. Mrs. Kubica is survived by her son George and his wife Marilyn Kubica of Grantville, daughter, Carol Hess of Middletown, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Alberta Sames of Fleetwood, PA, Grace Herling of Cunningham, PA, and a sister-in-law, Leafa Best of Weatherly, PA. There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg. The funeral service will be Friday, February 29, at 10 a.m. also at Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home. Interment will be a Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
